Quick report of Loick in POZO!

“I left for 15 days to Grand Canaria with my parents. I wanted to train jumping and get used to Pozo’s wild conditions!

I took my smaller sails (Guru 2,7 and 3,4) and my custom considering the reputation of Pozo…

To my surprise, the three first days of contest where windless… I took advantage of this to visit the island.

On Friday, the wind seemed to fill-in, with small waves. Just enough  for the head judge to confirm the beginning of the contest. I was participating to the young trial with two jumps and a surf counting. I rigged my 3,4 and I started sailing. During the first heat, the wind dropped quickly but I managed to do 2 forwards  and a nice surf! I took the 2nd place of U15. Eventhought it wasn’t as windy as expected, it was a great experience and I am looking forward to next year!

Back home, I started going through the rushes to make my new video, stay tuned…”

Lalo, Jason and Brawzinho were in Italy for the Quatro Goya Garda Tour last weekend (28-30th of June)! In collaboration with Detour Surf & Snow and Nico Salvini (Quatro Goya Italy) they promoted the 2014 range.

Two days of fun to enjoy what Lake Garda has best to offer. Locals were amazing and it was a great event!

COMMENT Comments Off on BRAWZINHO’S TRAINING FOR PWA Pozo

Already sailing on the Canaries Island, Brawzinho sent us some news of his training for the PWA Pozo champion title:

“Its been great here, I arrived a few days ago and straight away we had 3 sessions sailing on 3,7, super windy. After that the wind died off but its been good to recover and get the body back on place. Right now its windy again, but as it is very north we have to go sail in Ojos de Garca, a place where is a bit better conditions in this directions.”

Good luck Brawzinho!

COMMENT Comments Off on BRAWZINHO’S FIRST Pistol River AWT

Time for the team to hop back in their wetsuits, and off to the first Pistol River AWT event of the season. Pistol River delivered fun condition allowing a double elimination giving a chance to Brawzinho to get his first, and long due victory!

Despite his talent, he never quite expressed it fully in the sometimes limiting frame of competition. The AWT format and his hard training payed off and he could stand on the highest step of the podium . That first victory has more value than the amount on that check for sure!

Congrats Brawzinho!

We are thankful to work and share our passion with our distributor Makoto from Japan. Francisco participating to the “World Performance” taking place in legendary spot Omazeaki. It was amazing to see how the windsurfing community and actors (distributors) work together and not against each other to promote and develop windsurfing locally.

The people, places and condition made it a great event and we are looking forward to a great year working with Makoto!

If we would have dreamt the event, it wouldn’t have been as good as what we just witnessed! The conditions, organizations, riders, everything made it epic!

First days were some of the most insane conditions ever witness in a contest; double mast sets, epic riding made it the best showcase for windsurfing! Going on the rocks was as likely as getting pounded by huge sets. If you made it out the wave selection was critical and the best showed how it was done! It was really exciting to see all Goya riders do great in all categories.

Bernd (1st) was sailing as he was free-sailing; connecting waves, hitting all the sections and going off with takas and goiters! He really fought and had to beat Kevin 2 times to claim it . Being just 16, we see a great future for Bernd as this is an impressive milestone for his career.

Brawzinho’s (3d) power and style really made an impression on the crowd and judges. He got a nice 3d place . He had amazing goiters and takas but the light conditions favored a Bernd in great form.

Levi was impressive on the first days sailing at his best with late hits, power carving…At this point most expected him to be in the top 3. Unfortunately he couldn’t confirm and had a result that doesn’t reflect his true sailing style and abilities…

Josh  made a show the first day, hitting the heaviest section with style. Highlight will be when he went to the rocks, destroyed everything, grabbed Francisco’s kit and sailed out with couple minute left, took a massive set wave and did one of the best hit of the contest and made the crowd cheer!

Francisco was printing every wave he took with his style, flowing up in the ladder he got stopped by Polakow and Lenny. Tight heat there but the judge favored a better wave selection and incredible sailing from these two guys.

Laurent climbed 3 heats on the double with a great heat sticking a goiter and a 360.

Junko (1st) was impressive, hitting sections, going vertical all wrapped up with speed and great timing! She really is a amazing sailor and makes all of us very proud.

Tom Juban (1st) (Camille’s brother), was on fire in the youth category, he made his way to the top in fromt of Harley Stone (3d) that was also displaying great skills and style!

Paul (4th) Karaolides from Cyprus is a new addition to our amateur team and he is sailing great and pushes his limits everytime a bit more! Excited to see him on the podium next year!
