Ride with friends, crack the code.
This phrase encapsulates the spirit of the word “Cypher.” A cypher represents a collective of individuals, coming together to exchange ideas and elevate each other to new heights. In Freestyle Windsurfing, it signifies the pursuit of mastery – the process of cracking the code to perform the moves you’ve always aspired to.
The Cypher 2 is all about quick, crisp lifting power that’s easy to control. Explosive lift, huge range, and fingertip handling — this sail is built to perform.
Every detail of the Cypher 2 balances light weight, durability, and lasting shape integrity. Warp Carbon clew panels give direct connection and precision control. Dacron luff panel adds smooth flexibility, and ultra-durable scrim and Bi-Ply body panels deliver superior feel and lifespan durability.
With a tuned outline for instant release and progressive twist, the Cypher 2 is competition-ready straight out of the bag — progression-friendly, windsurf foiling-ready, and built to go big, session after session.

Stretch Control.
Increases the stability and range of our sails by keeping the low section full, the mid section stable and the top section twisting. Resulting in light handling and comfortable feeling.

CNC Battens.
Lightweight, CAD shaped, CNC machined, ultra durable, custom thickness and tailored taper battens. Adding structural perfection to the material sophistication of our film panels.

Double Stitching.
Around the main window, providing torsional strength, increased durability by reinforcing key load zones and blended transitions between different panel materials.
The Cypher Pro is a lighter build, since Freestyle sails require slightly less durability overall. Its power is higher up in the sail, more “lifting” than the Banzai, while this lifting power is also in part a result of the light weight. The Cypher Pro would work well in the waves in a situation where low end power is most needed, particularly in light wind, when the sail is rigged full and paired with a floaty board.
Cypher power is “lifiting upwards”, compared to Banzai Surf is more “neutral”. This lifting power makes the sail go well for both freestyle tricks and also foiling, where lift helps get you up out of the water and on foil more quickly. A lifting power delivery also works well for any rider in lighter wind, to help initiate early planing and easy handling.

Hi Francesco,
recently tried the Cypher 4.8 and instantly fell in love. This Sail feels so small and handy, but has massive drive. Now I am looking for a bigger Cypher, the 5.6. All the shops in Germany are out of stock ot this Sail, even looking at your distributor in EU in Spain. So my question is, do you have anywhere in the world a Cypher 5.6 available and would it be possible to ship it to Germany?
Response: Aloha, Fabian. Thank you for reaching out and for your support on our new Cypher. My colleague Tom will contact you shortly and point you in the right direction. Let me know how it goes when you get it. All the best winds, Francisco
Aloha Francisco ,
I have some questions ,
Wich sail has the most power low end .
Has the Cypher 5,9 the same low end power as the Banzai 11 ( 6,0 )
Or is the low end from Cypher 5,9 more like the Banzai 6,3 m ?
Another question,
I had a vacation in Almanarre France high wind area .
I have a banzai 3,7 sometimes to big is the 3,5 a big difference or is in better to buy 3,2 ?
My weight is 74 kg
All the best ,
Filip & Monique
Response: Aloha Filip, Monique,
So great to hear from you guys,
Wich sail has the most power low end .
I wouldn’t say one has more power than the other one. It is just different how the pull mainly, although the Cypher does have a tighter leach so it does feel like it is pulling more and from higher up, which is what the freestyle team wants to be able to do the backwind moves more powerful and higher.
I have a banzai 3,7 sometimes to big is the 3,5 a big difference or is in better to buy 3,2 ?
Yes, .2m doesn’t sound like much, but it is actually almost 10 percent less of your sail. Sailing in Pozo I mainly use the 3.5, a bit less the 3.7 and almost never the 3.2, maybe 1 day for a few hours at the most and my weight is also close to yours.
So, if you are really going to be doing Freestyle or Foiling, the Cypher would be your sail as it was designed around that. For sailing more balanced with the pull closer to your body, the Banzai would offer that.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thank you once again for your stoke and trust on our gear and I’m looking forward to seeing you guys soon. Let me know when you are coming back on Maui and I will do the same when I’m around your area.
All the best,
Francisco

Hi Ken,
Just wanted to let you know that I got to use the new Cypher 5.9 sail twice while foiling last week! Love it!?
It is a great light wind sail for foiling. Was using it in 8-12k winds with my big Maliko 280 and M-200 GoFoil wings. Love the smooth strong power it generates to get you up on foil, as well as its lightness and easy jibing / maneuvering characteristics. Plus it seems to de-power well to allow down-swell and down wind foiling on wave energy alone. I am really looking forward to more sessions on it and using it for light wind WWF on the ocean. Will likely get a Cypher 4.8 next season!
Thanks again for the recommendation to get the Cypher and enjoy the fall winds there.
I finally had a chance to try the Cypher.
What an amazing sail. So different and so much better.
How can you duck this sail...unbelievable.
Thank you!!
I hope that you are all fine.
all the best
Peter
