Feeling.

The new Nitro 2 Pro has a more connected feel to your feet through its dome deck, making it an instant response to rider input. Reduced swing weight through its shorter length and volume flow right below you means the Nitro 2 feels even lighter and more balanced during the most radical maneuvers. Faster, earlier planning with less drag due to the new rocker, sharper rails, and increased water flow keeps the board planning through lulls longer. Overall, a much lighter, more efficient board with a more responsive feel across all conditions.

Construction.

A holistically reimagined construction process, consisting of continuous layers of Biaxial, Uni-Directional, and Plain Weave into our proprietary Carbon Monocoque – connecting mast track and stance to rails and bottom, forming a cohesive whole without patches and fillers – as well as a full S-Glass hull enables us to now craft boards lighter and stronger, identical to our custom boards built on Maui. A tailored Hyper Skin sandwich layout creates the ultimate strength-to-weight ratio. S-glass rail bands provide ideal torsional strength without adding weight or reducing flex where you want it.

Description.

You have seen the team using the Quatro® SuperMini and the Compact & Light boards from Ho’okipa to Sylt for a few years now, with the back strap almost off the tail, and carrying Marcilio to his fourth World Title from On-Shore to Side-Shore; now all that and more is available.

As soon as we finished the new Custom Quad and Custom Thruster development, we jumped directly into the Nitro’s, applying all the same geometry and rail fluid dynamics. Dozens of prototypes led to all-new shapes and a revolutionary compact design with World Cup-winning performance.

With years of evolution, generation 2 of the Nitro Pro is our pinnacle All-Around, Fast, Compact Wave Board. Improved efficiency and volume distribution with reduced friction and increased water flow allowed us to shorten the new Nitro Pro without losing the previous generation’s speed. Through its improved geometry, placing the rider right on the tail allows it to fit into the tightest sections of the wave, right where we want to be, but with more speed and control under our feet. A word on weight, custom-built US boxes for lightness and compatibility, and a removed deck sticker for lightness and sustainability.

Nitro Pro 2 and Custom Quad & Thruster are kindred spirits. While not fully identical, their shapes are highly related yet specifically cater to their respective conditions and fin setups. So, if anyone likes one, they will most definitely like the other.

Speed.

The combination of a more efficient rocker, bottom shape, and sharper tapered rails creates a much faster board, which translates into better balance, earlier planning, and higher top-end speed and control.

Shape.

Fine-tuned to work as a Quad on the three smaller sizes and as a Thruster on the two larger ones without compromise.

85 Liters Stock Model with MFC Quad Fins.

Agility

Our most Progressive World Cup Wave Board, quick to plane, turns on a dime. The compact shape paired with your back foot on the tail means you can do turns you never thought were possible, and the extra speed sends you into the most radical of moves.

Highlights

Function and form.

Bottom

V with a double concave blend nose to tail, creating a faster and easier rail-to-rail forgiving bottom shape. Quad: 79, 85(Displayed), 91 liters or Thruster: 99, 109 liters

Outline

With the wider tail block, we could maintain a more parallel outline, which increases speed.

Rocker

Higher nose entry adds to the maneuverability, and a lower tail rocker creates support/power, adding to the earlier planning and a super fast top end.

Rails

More surfy and forgiving up front, sharp, fast at the back. Thicker with a fuller rail at the front of the mast track, with accelerated tapering towards the tail, reduces drag.

Nose

A lighter, more pointed nose for maximum control, even when carving full nose-to-tail underwater.

Tail

A Wider Drop swallow tail for added support, release, and range. Quad 79, 85, 91 liters & Thruster 99 (Displayed), 109 liters

Pads.

Dual-density pads, redesigned from the ground up, provide better grip and comfort. A new layout and optimized dual-density blend mean you have the right support and cushioning where you need it while saving weight and minimizing drag. The new patterns are angled in the right direction to give you maximum grip and connection to the board.

Fins.

The new NITRO now comes with MFC® Carbon Quad and Thruster TF fins. Their carbon‑composite lay‑up delivers crisp, consistent flex for instant acceleration, early planing, and agile turns. A slimmer Quad core and the Thrusters TF’s tip channel (1 mm) keep the board fast and locked‑in across every condition.

Ideal Masts.

It depends on the conditions and purpose, but if you are riding in head high and smaller, a Hundred would work great. For flat/river/lake, you could even go with the Ultra mast; just be careful to avoid hitting the high-modulus carbon against sharp objects. Eighty is our strongest mast, so if you are looking at riding it on heavier surf, crossings, or out to sea, then this will be your safest ride.

Compared.

Nitro over Custom Quad or Custom Thruster.

When you want to ride on a more compact board, standing closer to the tail, and with more on-shore performance on the less ideal days.

Compared.

Nitro over One.

When you are after a more maneuverable ride. Also, when you are ready for a more compact shape, and you won’t need outboard straps.

Francisco & Marcilio.

Q&A.

The new NITRO is originally scaled up and down by the same magic master for a cohesive feel and look. From there, each size receives manual adjustments, as our human needs don’t change exponentially in length or rocker as they do in volume. Thus, a fine balance of math and feel has been created, catering to the conditions we encounter and how we ride them.

What is so different from the previous version?
FG: Everything started after we finished our new Custom Quads and Thrusters. We couldn’t wait to apply the volume and accelerating rail flow to the new Nitro boards, and as we did, it surprised us even more than we expected. It was an instant winner, faster, more maneuverable, opening new angles and speed in areas no previous design could carry us.

Is the new generation faster or more turnier than last year?
FG: Both boards had to meet the Short, Fast, and Fun guidelines. The new accentuated rail flow not only accelerates the water in marginal conditions but also provides more effortless rail-to-rail agility that only our Custom Pro Models had before.

Can you ride a bigger size in this new compact design?
FG: The new shapes have more range than ever; as designs improve, so does the range; the new NITRO stands out like no other board has ever done for us.

Why use Quad for the smaller sizes and Thrusters for the larger ones?
That is how they ride best when the winds are marginal, and we are trying to maximize the low end of the board; a Thruster works best, but as soon as the conditions turn on, nothing can match the Quad feeling on the rail.

Did you guys consider having it with 5 Boxes?
Yes, shops were asking for this as they wanted to ensure they could have all of the options in one board, but every time we rode a proto with five boxes, we would immediately feel the added weight and the added drag, so it was an easy decision.

Being shorter and more compact, is riding more technical, only for the more advanced?
FG: This new shape will benefit every rider; you need to know how to water start, and the rest is very intuitive.

What about front-side riding?
FG: The Custom Quad is the pinnacle for the front side. Down the line, the new NITRO is right behind it, but, at the same time, can excel in everything else, turning onshore conditions into the most fun you have ever had

What can you share about the construction?
FG: The new NITROs also benefit from the new reduced and continuous layup, without patches and fillers, with minimum paint, just enough to seal the vacuumed lamination—Lightness you want, with the durability you need.

What’s been the biggest inspiration for making such a shape?
FG: In the early 80s, my brother bought a surfboard from a local shaper in Brazil who had just added three footstraps with resin and a mast truck. We could only use this board when it was + 30 knots, but every time we did, it gave us a glimpse of what was possible; any turn you want it to make, you could, and the board would fit not only inside the car but also in every part of the wave that you could imagine. It has been taking decades to get back to that feeling; the difference now is that we don’t need much wind; the opposite now, the new NITROs have the most efficient volume displacement.

FG: Can you share some of your feelings on the new Nitro’s?
MB: This is an entirely new thing; it is like nothing I have ever ridden. The previous Quatro® SuperMini & NITRO were great, but once we applied all the Custom Quad development and balanced the outlines and volume distribution in this newer compact shape, a new era began in my sailing. This is changing the way I look not only at marginal conditions but also at On-shore riding; now, it is super fun as I have the gear to fly around non-stop while also being able to lay on the rail and in the wave face as hard as I want without fearing that the board will skip or not match the curve of where I’m trying to fit. I’m also riding these new shapes more at Ho’okipa and windy Pozo than in the past, where I would only use them on light, marginal onshore winds. This is always the biggest challenge, as there is nothing new in making super-fast and compact waveboards. However, it is different when you enjoy riding them in good conditions.

FG: What was the goal for this new line?
MB: We wanted to take the NITRO to the next level, as we have done with the Custom Quads. I always dream of having that board that would maximize those challenging On-Shore or Sylt conditions with almost no wind on the inside, with strong currents, and at the same time being overpowered as soon as you are outside, with overhead barreling waves and 12 minutes to put out all that you worked on all year. These new shapes motivate me the most, which means a lot when riding in cold and challenging weather.

Hi Francisco ,
I tried the Nitro 2 79 l in onshore conditions 20-30 knots. Sail size 4.2 - 4.7 Banzai 20/21. I have to say this thing is a gem !! Amazing control for such a short board. Blistering acceleration, upwind, downwind, backside hacks, jumping, carving... no problem. I don't see myself riding a traditional wave board anytime soon !!. Construction -tough. And most important- weight is as stated !!! Good job Goya !

Bonjour, j\'ai un petit hésitation pour les choix des deux planches. J\'hésite Custom4 88 + Nitro2 99 ou Custom4 84 + Nitro2 91. Je fais alentour 83 KG quelles sont les meilleurs choix ?

Response: Aloha Jerome,

Thank you for reaching out and for considering our gear.

First of all, let me say that all are excellent choices, as nobody knows what the future holds in terms of winds and conditions. However, let\'s try to narrow it down to your most frequently used sails.

Could you please share the sail sizes with me, as well as the conditions, such as Side/SideOff or a combination ON/SideOn that you will be riding primarily on?

Also, what boards will you be replacing, and what are your wishes for these two new boards, starting from those?

Merci!

Hello Francisco, what volume of nitro do you recommend for an 86kg rider in addition to a custom 3 92 ?

Response: Aloha Louis,

Thank you for reaching out and for your trust in our gear.

As a single board, for your weight estimate that you ride between 3.7 and 5.3 liters, I would go for the 91 liters, but if you have the Custom 3 92 and are planning on keeping that, you could go with the Nitro 99.

Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions. I CC\'d my colleague Cyril here if you want more feedback, or he may add something else.

Please keep in touch, and share some feedback after riding it.

Hi Francisco,

The new Goya One 95 brought me the windsurfing smile back and riding it over 100 times I’m only missing this Waveboard feeling.

The advices/videos/interviews from Marcilio Browne regarding Boards and setups are always helpful..

Goya boards to me have this intuitive board feeling and I hope that the Nitro will help me to surf this difficult conditions as we have them quite often in the south of Portugal, it’s not Sylt but similar with much more rocks.

Is there already a date when the Nitros will be available in Europe?

Muitos cumprimentos
Dirk

Response: Aloha, Dirk, so great to hear! Best news. Boards are already in and ready to ship. Please reach out to your nearest Goya dealer. All the best!

Hi !

Ive been riding one 95l for the last two years and super good, I sail mostly in mediterranean conditions. And Im thinking in between Nitro 89 or Custom Thruster 92 as my first wave board, Ive started windsurfing 3y ago after surfing most of my life, my weight is 79k and 1.81m height.

Thanks a lot and congrats for such an amazing brand and product !!

Response: Aloha Nacho,

It\'s great to hear from you, and thank you for your feedback on our gear. I have a couple of questions:

Would you be keeping your One 95 for the lighter wind days?

What sail sizes will you be riding on this new smaller waveboard?

Where do you usually ride?

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Nitro is a sick board! It rides upwind and downwind so deep that you can go for any sets you see bit away from you and plus its acceleration lets you get to that point much faster!! I felt so “free” at Kanaha today, and it carves really well, maybe not as much as the down-the-line wave boards, but still competitive enough when you get used to it.

Aloha! Interested in the Nitro and had a question. Been on a 2018 Custom Thruster 86 for a while and considering the Nitro 89 as a replacement. How would you say the Nitro compares to my (older) Thruster? Mahalo!

Response: Aloha WB Peale,

Thank you for reaching out. The Nitro is 5cm shorter and 5cm wider on the tail than your Custom Thruster, and you are also standing/mast track 8cm back on the board. This makes the board a lot more reactive and allows it to fit in tighter sections. The board is an exact replica of Braw’s favorite Sylt board.

If you have any other questions or if there is anything that we can help you with please let me know.

All the best,

Francisco

Small addendum from september trip, had a very windy time at greek island Karpathos, staying at ION Club station and made a fantastic experience with my 98 l Nitro there with wind forces up to 45kN and sailing with 4,0m² and smaller. I had never the feeling that the board was to big for my 73kg live load. But maybe 89 l Nitro would be better for having it there...
Love it the stuff.

Servus Francisco,

now, I had two surfing days last week at Bavarian lake Starnberger See. 1st day with 19-24 knts and 2nd day with 22-28 knts. Wow! I have to say, this board is incredible. 1st day I used 12er side and 25er MFC Freewave as CF with 5,6, early planning was never easier as before. 2nd day i used origin 10er side fins and 25er as CF with 5,0 what a "funboard", I am loving it. The wide swallow tail keeps speed in manoevers, the thicker rails in front of protecting the board not to cut below the water, felt after some nose dive jumpings..so short said. So can't wait to surf the board with smaller CenterFin and sailsizes during stronger wind..
Thanks for this board who makes my surfers life easier/nicer 😉

Not really a review, just wondering why you don\'t recommend pairing the nitro with the fringe ?

Aloha

Aloha Mike,

Thank you so much for pointing this out.

There is a missed opportunity here.

We will tune up the website shortly.

I believe there is great benefit in pairing these two pieces of gear. The early mobility of the Nitro combined with the easier handling and low end of the Fringe ??

Thank you,

Servus from Munich,
I am very interested in the Nitro 3 98 as successor of my Tabou DaBomb 94. I am mostly surfing within Europe, the Bavarian lakes if we have storm saison, Greek and Canadian Islands or Lage Garda Italy. So with the Tabou with my 73kg and 5,6 mostly I have problems to get in early planing if conditions are not the best, around 16-20knts. Do you think the Nitro with 98 liters will have an advance in the relation to the Tabou concerning early planing? For these conditions I take a bigger center Freeware fin of 25cm. Is it possible to put a 28cm center fin, also? Thanks

Aloha Michi,

Thank you for reaching over and considering our gear.

Would you be able to schedule a test session with Ralph here CC?

Yes, 25cm should be more than enough for a 5.6 and your description.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or if there is anything that I can help.

Hello, I have a custom 3 92l 2023 and I\'m very happy with this board . I would like to have a second board for light wind and on shore conditions . Witch model of Nitro do you advice ? 98 or 106 . My weight is 87 kg .
Thank you for your answer

Response: FG: Thank you for your stoke on our gear.

What size sail would you be riding the Nitro on?

L: My biggest sail is a eclipse 5,5

FG: Yes, I would go for the 106, as it will complement your C3 92 the best. The Nitros are shorter with a wider tail as you stand further back, so you need the support/flotation, but you still have the access and comfort of a narrower/advanced board.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

What do you think about toe-in on the sidefin boxes? Pros and Cons, and why you put zero toe-in in your boards, at least in my C3 98 and Nitro 106.
Would you recommend some 3 degree K4 asymetric sidefins in the Nitro to enhance turning or would this just kill performance?
Or is toe-in in your bords not needed because the Goya (and Quatro) boards have rather smallish sidefins, and it\'s just a feature for bigger sidefins to enhance turning?

Aloha Alex,
Thank you for reaching over.
We have been playing with toed-in fins, and nobody in our team liked them for windsurfing so far, not even Kai who prefers larger side fins more surf oriented.

Let me know if anything else.

Hi everyone!

Got the magic Nitro 98l added to my board quiver last summer 2022. What a nice design!

Love the board and how responsive it is even on small waves. Quick to plane and fast enough to catch up with racier bigger board in flat water conditions.

I was unfortunate to experience some problem with the fin box. Thanks to the people of Goya and specially to Goya Rep Vickey and OceanAir staff to help me work out a quick exchange.

Hui GOYA Team,
i'm just back from a Portugal/Galicia watersports trip (yeah, also winging and SUPsurfing when windsurfing wasn't the best choice).
Just a week before the start of the trip my Nitro 106 did arrive and so i could get some really eyeopening sessions with it.
It complements an 202 C3 98 (unchanged shape for the 2022 C3 99) for my 92 kg body. Former light wind board was the 2020 One105.
After some getting used to the volume distribution, the Nitro was just amazing in smaller or less powerfull waves, almost as playfull as my C3 98 but carrying speed better through the bottom turns. Early planing was just as on the One, just not as fast. But it's a true waveboard after all.

Finally i choose the board no more regarding wind strength or sailsize, but wave power. C3 for the powerfull, clean waves, everything else with the Nitro, even in stronger wind like a Session on a powered 4.5 Banzai in Xurxo last Sunday.

It really is not a freewave but a full on waveboard on steroids. Worth the wait.

Hi,
I am 6ft3 and 92kg. My largest wave board is a C3 105 (2019) and is also my most used board for DTL conditions. Most of my sailing (75%) however is cross on blasting in 2/3ft waves.
With that in mind I was thinking of changing to a Cube 106 or C4 114 as my largest board. I am aware that the C4 is more 'wavey' than the Cube but was thinking maybe the C4 could be used as a twin fin on those cross on days when all I really want is speed and to plane quickly (I had a 2017 95ltr Cube that struggled to get planeing quickly which made windsurfing difficult in cross on mushy waves).
Probably a question for Tom Hartmann as I'm sure he uses the 114 and maybe has tried it as a twinser?

Kind Regards,
Stephen

Hi Stephen,

Great to hear from you, and thank you for considering our gear.

The Custom4 114 is really a fun board, as it is just our favorite 84/94 scaled up but with a bit sharper rocker/rail. I usually recommend quad boards as Twins for cross/on conditions as they open up for more options, slides, etc, still with enough grip, you might just need to slide the back fins back. Side covers are provided with the accessories.

Another option that I see would be the Nitro 106. This new shape Braw loves it. He is 6’2” and 88kg.

Cube 106 I would compare it to Custom4 regarding speed, early planning, and general feel, just in the Quatro world.

Tom is usually riding one eye with the Custom4, but he also gets some customs to fill in his quiver that can better fit in that magical wave.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

All the best!

I got a chance to try the 98 Nitro last week while in maui. Im a big guy aprx 220 so i need a board that planes quickly and points well . The nitro was amazing board very quick to plane and great to stay upwind. The combination of parallel rails wide tail, sub 60xm width was great combo .. Awesome board looking forward to getting one for the great lakes

Nitro 106 or ONE 105?

Hi
I’m riding the awesome Goya One 3 105 in light wind bob and ride DTL conditions. 12-20 mph using a 6.3. I (and other who sail with me) use free wave boards as we have to get upwind and plane off pumping into a wave. Full on wave boards struggle to get upwind and plane off in gusts. Can the new Nitro pull a nice carving bottom turn on a decent sized wave while still getting upwind.
Andrew

Hi Andrew,

Great to hear from you.

Thank you for considering our new boards. From your question below, I understand that you have been riding for a few good years, so I believe you will be more than stoked on the new Nitro 106.

The tail is almost 3cm wider on the Nitro than last year's 105. Still, the middle is equally as narrow on the Nitro and over a cm thicker, so a bit more technical, yet, all the volume and power are there. You need to be more fine-tuned to be centered and balanced to access it. So riding frontside, you will feel on a surfboard as a narrower board can go on the rail much more quickly, and paired with a bit more rocker and stance 10cm of the tail! Get ready to be amazed and take your sailing to the next level.

Please let me know if you have any other questions, and please forward me some pics as soon as you get on it.

All the best!

Hi,

i am a little excited about this new board.
Because, now you use slotboxes for the sidefins (why?)
And, i am not shure to choose between the 98L and 106L.

I want to use it for onshore Ligthwind Waveriding, Sails 5.3 and 6.0, for tricky conditions maybe 4,7.
Small board with 86kg is a grip86.

Which one should i choose?

Thanks

Aloha!

It's a board with a completely different personality. Which one to choose is very good. Which would you choose?
I'm 78 kg and the board below is a custom 3 2022 91 liter.

Mahalo!

Francisco replies below:

Yes, the Custom 3 and Custom 4 have similar performance, the Nitro is a different style of riding.

Shorter
Wider Tail
Standing back, less than 10cm of the tail

The Nitro is a really fun easy board that excels in light On-shore conditions and Braw’s favorite for that.

So, if you have the Custom 3 91 already I believe the Nitro 106 will be a great complement for when the winds are lighter and it is more on-shore.

I look forward to seeing you riding your next board.

Aloha!
I've been interested in the nitro106, but I've had boards with similar designs so far, but now they're gone from the lineup.
I'm worried about Cuatro's supermini, etc., and there are many times when there is no wind between the inside waves, so how is the static buoyancy compared to the 114 of the custom 4?
Also, do you get the same drive feeling as Custom 4 when you make a bottom turn?
Sorry for the long question.

Thank you.

Reply by Francisco
great question: It is true that the Super Mini as much as it was loved was removed from the Quatro line, what happened there was that the Cube got considerably shorter, therefore making it too close to the Supermini. The difference here is that the Nitro is a dedicated On-shore board made for Brawzinhio, so I don't see it disappearing from the line anytime soon as a lot of the events are run in those types of conditions.
The buoyancy of the board is mainly dictated by the volume and width also. Yes, the Custom 114 will float more than the Nitro 106, but the tail of the Nitro is a couple of cms wider at 30cm of the tail and even thicker. The 114 is wider in the middle and nose and of course 13cm longer.
So two very different boards and riding styles, as you are just 10cm of the tail on the Nitro and almost 10cm forward on the Custom4. So yes, you will be able to carry the speed longer on the Custom4 turns, and on the Nitro will be able to turn higher on those on-shore days. Two dedicated boards, with tons of fun and surprises to behave.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Hei
I was really exiting to read about the all new nitro 3. I often sail in mellow side on shore wave conditions with not very power full saves .I am sailing custom 4 104 now and thinking about to change it into the nitro 3 106 . I am keen on the idea of having a board that more turns on a small mellow surf ! Is the nitro 3 a board for me ?

Cheers Henrik

Aloha!

The Nitro 106 compared to the Custom4 114 is 14cm shorter, 3.5cm Narrower in the middle, and 2.5cm wider on the tail with 1.4cm more tail rocker, still, it planes as fast as it balances out with the wider tail and thickness flow being 10cm further back.

I believe since you have all the other more classic, longer boards, this would be a fun new addition and something that will get you excited and looking forward to riding.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you once again for all of your stoked and trust in our gear.

Thank you!

Aloha!
I am at a loss with 114 liters of custom 4 and 106 liters of nitro. The wind is often weak on my slopes, and the wind direction is side from the beginning.
I weigh 78 kg.
Which would you recommend?
