Freerace 6 Batten

Racing speed made simple. This camless freerace sail is quick to rig and easy to tune. And it is lightning fast.

Big results from small refinements on the Mark for 2018. Holding the same luff and boom lengths from last season, the change in Mark is in the heart of the sail, the profile, twist and release. A little more shape forward, a smooth transition, and a smooth and clean release, particularly in the leech area just above the boom. The Mark has a more neutral feel when powered up. When that big gust hits, the sail stays settled. A big plus in control. We have updated the material in the tack and foot of the sail with a stronger yarn configuration in the laminate, and also we’ve made this material in the body color of the sail for more visual impact.

New combination nylon/composite leech mini battens stabilize the leech trailing edge making the sail quieter in the hands and also more durable against material breakdown caused by an excessively fluttering leech.

Available in 5.4, 5.8, 6.2, 6.6, 7.2, 7.8, 8.5 square meters.

Available in yellow & black.

Recommended freerace mast: 99 Pro (400 and 430).
Optional flatwater mast: 70 Pro.

Construction

Pro Scrim & Monofilm

Scrim Body Panels. The colored Scrim material used in the main panels offers super strong durability, super light weight and a supple and alive feel throughout the sail.

Monofilm Window Panels. Monofilm offers crystal clear optics, light weight and a crisp direct feel. Featured on Nexus and Mark.

X-Ply luff panels, Carbon Stretch Control, Titanium Clew Ring, Rip Stop Sleeve and a Molded Tack Fairing round off the peak quality package. Sleeve cut treatments as well as tack and foot reinforcements are now folded to increase durability and prevent edge fraying. A wider scalloped upper leech reinforcement prevents breakdown of the leech from fluttering in strong wind conditions such as Omaezaki, the Gorge and Pozo.

First season with new Bolt 135, Mark 7.8, 180 C-Boom, RDM 460/90 and 30 C-Extension. The equipment is superb: great design and outstanding quality. So far used on 18 - 30 mph winds and every piece works together flawlessly. Super happy (...and very fast) sailor here!!! Keep up the great work. Many thanks!!!!

I have the Mark II 6.6, and love this sail on my Bolt 105! I’m still going faster than many « full slalom guys », so it’s a good sign! Looking forward to try with the MFC H1 I should have soon… And some nice « speed crossing » in mind when it gets warmer here ! 😉

Dear Goya,

Thank you so much for donating a brand new Goya Mark 7.2 sail! Given your help, we were able to raise over $4,000 for our kids program! This money will provide children in the Gorge with new gear, easy storage and access, and dedicated coaching to advance their skills to provide continued access for the kids.

With an estimated 3,000 people in attendance throughout the weekend, Beach Bash was a huge success! Friday night, people were on their feet and dancing as Dirty Revival rocked the Waterfront Park. The concert attracted many around the area and we were able to raise even more money through generous donations, food and drinks from our vendors.

Saturday and Sunday we moved to the Event Site to enjoy local bands, The Ultronz and Soul Profit, more food vendors, and of course demos out on the water. Families were able to interact with paddle boarding, windsurfing and foil demos. American Windsurfing Tour entertained spectators watching the competitions and those who participated throughout the weekend. CGWA also gained 44 new members, and are excited to add them to the team!

Thank YOU for helping make this weekend possible for everyone! We couldn’t of done this without your generous donation of the Season Ski Pass and your sponsorship of the event.

Sincerely,
CGWA

Try this dream kit (Goya Mark + Bolt) and you’ll end up listing yourself too on your first ever downwind slalom competition, no doubt there. This combo is extremely easy to handle, quick around the marks and speedy enough to create some disturbance : )

Had some great sessions at Lago di Garda - Itlay with my fabulous gear (Carrera 116 and Mark 7.2). It is a perfect combination for easy riding and speed. The Mark is fast and provides a super easy handling. The 8.5 works also very well with the Carrera 144. Needs some fine tuning in setup, but then it is a great feeling to speed the lake.
