Francisco’s words: “The Air is basically a radical blend between a freerace board and a wave board, plus a few unique characters such as the Reverse Sliding Bevel and Double Concave Nose unique to freestyle needs. The Rocker is borrowed from a Race Board for super early planing and utmost speed while the outline stems from a wave board, which allows the board to be easily popped out of the water. The lightest construction is applied to maximize both of the above.”

The Air is the least compromising board in our portfolio. Every incarnation of it is designed with only one purpose in mind, to cater to the latest generation of freestyle moves. Period. These boards are purely professional. Used and abused daily by gifted and aspiring talents around the globe. Its short shape and full rail allow for extreme power and rail carving. The AIR features generous carbon patching from in front of the mast track all the way into the tail, as well as beneath the stance. Further special features include a gradually curved deck under the foot strap area and customized Freestyle insert positions with double screws for the back strap.

AIR BOTTOM SHAPES

On the Air I run the deeper double concave through the front of the mast track to brake the chop/soften the ride while bringing air (reduce wet area) to the the bottom below the mast track and front straps and I reduce them through the tail to bring more crispiness, power and easy to pop & detach the tail from the water. Also I carry the double concaves even further into the nose area that together with a straighter nose rocker they add direction extending the reverse sliding time.

You might ask why concave with double concaves. That was the bottom we always dreamed of, but it wasn’t until 1996 that the CNC machine allowed us to bring it across as shaping blends from 1mm to 3mm are almost imposible by hand and even harder having to mirror it on the other side. Generally speaking with today’s parameters single concave boards have the most grip but also are hard to change rails once you are committed to one of them. The double concaves create a pivoting point, breaking the water and softening the ride, making it easy to switch from rail to rail.

Hi Francisco,

I've never had so much fun in choppy conditions so far with a FREESTYLE Board!!!
Early planning, fast speed, nice sliding and jumping performance, and also good turning for classic jibing manoevers, it was also great for riding some waves with the mite of V-buttom shape, the result: it was awesome. Your Board made my day perfect!

The Board is still a allround Freestyle Weapon. For sure by low-wind conditions(like today with 4.8-my biggest sail) its a perfect partner for a great Freestyle Day!
Between the Waves I jumped easily(without any readjustment) Powermoves like Kono's or Culos, outside in the chop I could easily go for switchmoves.
It gaves me a direct riding feeling and control, thats really important for a Freestyle Board.

Overall - I'm suprised!

Tomorrow we will film some tricks with the Board, in the afternoon I will show you the results.

Seeyou 😉
Greetings
Valentin
