The new Proton. In stores now. Building on the immense success of its first generation, it is even more refined, precise, and without beating around the bush, simply faster, which is what the Proton is all about.
Gabriel Browne, Team Rider on the PWA: “The new Proton is a totally new design and concept. The three volume numbers are the same, and that’s about it. All sizes come with all new shapes, fine tuned rockers, volume flow, rails, outlines, deck shapes. Everything you love about the old Proton is improved on the new Proton.
It’s a Slalom board designed to win races everywhere in all conditions and for someone who wants to push hard and get the max out of it. During the second generation R&D we had the chance to test in different places, Denmark, Brazil and Maui. The Proton is designed to get the max out of a racing course, meaning starts, acceleration, speed and jibes.
From my side, as the rider, as a racer, the boards feel very free, powerful and fast with the new outlines, bottom, rails tuning and cutouts. The new back pads gives a more comfortable ride with always the toes in contact with the board.
The new cut outs are probably one of the main changes I believe of the new Proton. A totally new design built for maximum performance. Every size has it own cut out shape to maximize performance in the wind range.During the development of the board we did countless cuts on the cut outs to find the perfect one for each board. The new cut out shapes makes the board feeling very free, on top of the water without losing control.
Compared to last year Proton’s, the new ones are more radical and you can for sure get more out of it. Every small detail was improved on the new ones. In my opinion, overall, this no doubt is a much better board.”
Available in 96, 116, 136 liters.
Foil Ready: 116, 136 liters.
Available in Pro Light Full Carbon Hull construction.
Available with a Tuttle finbox (96) or Deep Tuttle Foil ready finbox (116, 136).
Available in neon yellow on metallic amber.
We’re heavily sanding up to 75% of all paint to significantly reduce the weight of the finished board.
Fused Cell Core. The Goya Pro Carbon & S-Glass construction comes with a Fused Cell Core made from EPS. Fused Cell Expanded Polystyrene is a high quality, low weight, rigid, closed cell foam used in advanced modern production boardmaking.
Hyper Skin HD. The entire board is covered in Hyper Skin HD. Hyper Skin is Goya’s proprietary High Density Foam Sandwich, delivering an immensely rigid structure at an extremely light weight. Covering deck, rails and bottom in it, gives Goya Pro boards their incomparable flex and longevity. A third stronger, stiffer and lighter than conventional boards.
Core Axis Reinforcements. These long and wide carbon patches act as superior backbones, making your board stiffer and eliminating distortions. They furthermore ready your board* to carry a hyrofoil. (* Proton 96, 116, 136).
Full Carbon Hull. Biaxial Carbon is the perfect reinforcement for adding global torsional stiffness across the board, which is why we cover the entire hull of our uncompromising Race boards in it, meaning deck, bottom and rails. Our Race boards are unforgivingly stiff because they are made to unapologetically win.

I drive the 116 Proton and the 105 Bolt and I'm so happy with them. Meanwhile I completely switched to Goya and also the sails. Thanks to the Goya team for the great work. Regards Peter

Congratulations – Proton 136
I own your Proton 136, which I use for foiling purposes. I have other foilboards, but I must say that your board is exceptional and a real joy to sail. I treat it like a slalom board in the air and it really lets me press the foil and not just merely ride it. My first Goya board and I will buy more.
